Southern States Cooperative was founded in 1923 as Virginia Seed Service when Virginia farmers were unable to purchase seed guaranteed to grow in the Commonwealth and soon expanded to include feed, agronomy inputs, energy and farm supplies. In the early 1930s, we became known as Southern States and we've been a member of the GROWMARK cooperative system since 2020.
Today, we are a retail agricultural cooperative that serves its members across eight states. We offer a wide range of farm inputs and services including: fertilizer, seed, crop protection, precision ag services, livestock feed and supplies, animal health products, propane, heating oil, diesel and gasoline, professional turf products, plus a variety of items for the farm and home.
